Larry Welch opened Larry’s Western Supply at a young age in 1976. He began traveling to horse auctions all over, selling tack. Larry enjoyed working for himself and traveling and meeting new people. He soon became a well known name at horse auctions. He realized that buying in bulk allowed for better pricing, so his inventory grew. It was not long after, Larry ran out of space in his 24×36 building, so he moved his home and business 2 miles to cedar square rd and opened a retail and wholesale store. It didn’t take long for Larry’s Western Supply to become very well known and trusted throughout the horse community. Larry started shipping tack all over the United States, to other stores and selling at horse auctions. With guys on the road selling tack, Larry’s Western Supply quickly became the largest tack store in the southeast. Larry continues to sell at auctions as well as wholesale to many stores across the country.
As the business continued to grow with the changing times, the huge wholesale that built us began to move over to retail. With over 8000 square feet of retail space, there’s not much Larry’s doesn’t have in stock for horses. Without the help of great people over the years, Larry’s Western Supply wouldn’t be what it is today; however, one thing that remains the same is that Larry’s Western Supply is family owned and operated. Our country roots and down home service is what makes us who we are and who we will continue to be. We are consistently adding new products and supplies as they are introduced to the industry. We want to be sure to have what you need, when you need it! We hope you’ll stop by and check us out and see why so many people have made us their favorite tack store.
We hope that this taught you a little bit about us. We appreciate you taking the time to spend with us and hope to do business with you in the future.
Thank You from everybody at Larry’s Western Supply.
